Harley Quinn #3
Superior Spiderman #27 & #28

Long time no book report! Sorry about that. Stupid, nasty cold. I’m glad *that* is over…
I started and skipped several box-set books over the last few weeks. One of the romance ones was mostly first person narratives, which if you’ve bee
n around me long you know I really just can’t stand. I try, and there have been exceptions, but if it doesn’t grab me in the first couple pages, I don’t waste my time on any more of it. Somehow I didn’t expect it in romance, but…indies. Leave it to us rabble-rousers to shake things up regardless of genre.
The couple stories that I did read past the first few pages disappointed me by the middle, which was a bummer. Thankfully, I paid all of 99 cents for each set.
In any case, no more box sets for me. I’m not all that fond of having to flip back and forth in the table of contents until I happen to find a story that grabs me. Much easier to just do that browsing Amazon, read the sample and take it from there. In my opinion, of course.
Moving on to contemporary romance, His Ring is Not Enough was good, but really intense. So if you’re looking for a light, quick read, this isn’t it, IMO. Good, like I said, just be ready for a serious roller coaster of emotions while you’re reading.
I’ve taken another break from Tatterdemon – just wasn’t really interested while I was sick. Instead, I’ve been slowly working on Neverwhere, and a romantic suspense novel by another Montana author titled Rescue Me.
So far, I’m really enjoying Rescue Me – lots of action and a mystery right from the start, plus that oh-so-important sexual tension between the two main characters. Allie’s a much more descriptive writer than I am, and while some authors overdo it, I’m finding her to be just right. I’ll keep you updated when I finish the book, but I’m optimistic at the moment.
And finally, I got back to some comic books this week – hooray! Caught up with my Superior Spider-man series, and am smack dab in the middle of a Goblin War. I hate to say it, but I’m kind of digging the goblin in all of this. And Ock is just being a total freak, while Peter wanders around in his memories. Good times all around…not.
Harley Quinn, on the other hand…well, let’s just say I’m a total fangirl at this point. She’s smart, she’s funny, and I love her outlook on life. Can’t recommend her comic book enough!

This week I’m proofreading a book for a friend, so my reading will be light with that going on and a lot of writing to catch up on. I should have a little money on Saturday though, so back to the comic book shop I go!
Until next week, happy reading…
