Weekly News & Goals

Last week was fun but  a bit chaotic around here, with posts all over the place. Good times. Thanks to all who came by and commented, and congratulations to Erica for winning a copy of Kait Nolan’s new novella on Thursday. It looks like we have a tie on the Indelibly Inked poll again this week, so if you haven’t voted and want to, there’s a little time left…

This Week on The Variety Pages

Tuesday: Construction Zone – Finding the Target
Wednesday: Everyday Romance – Small Moments
Friday: Chapter 19 of Indelibly Inked
Saturday: Notable Posts

Goal Report

I was lazy with the personal goals last week, though I did finally get the rest of my indoor seeds started. The weather wasn’t really conducive to working outside, though I suppose it wouldn’t have been too bad over the weekend. Again with the “lazy” thing.

Writing was a different matter. I didn’t get any writing done, but that’s because (as you probably know already), I decided to completely “gut” my plot, start over and rewrite HPC from the beginning. I missed the target with my first draft, and finally realized that. It’s also come to my attention that I need to flesh out the story more, go slowly, and work on better description. I think that while word count goals and completion goals have been working as far as quantity goes, it’s hindering quality. So I’m going to refrain from setting concrete goals for awhile, and focus on getting good, solid writing down for awhile. Maybe after I have more experience with that, I can pick up the pace again. I’ll set timed goals instead, just to keep up a daily routine. It’s been nearly a week since I wrote anything, and I have to say – it’s hard to get going again.

Weekly Goals

– Work on the HPC rewrite for 1 hr. per day
– Work on Tempest revisions for 1/2 hr. per day
– Ch. 19 of Indelibly Inked

– Yard cleaning/gardening
– Vacuum *sigh*
– Move my digital journal to new laptop, journal a few times per week
– Get started on workouts again. 3x this week.
– Eat at home 4 nights this week (I’ve gotten lazy about cooking…)

That’s what I’m up to this week – what’s going on in your world? Read any good books lately?

Good luck with your goals this week. I want to finish my last revisions and get ready to query. 🙂

Thanks Shannon. Sounds like you’re doing exciting work this week…good luck getting your revisions done! 🙂

I know what you mean about quality vs quantity. Good luck with the revisions, and it sounds like you hate to vacuum as much as I do!

You know, it’s not that I mind vacuuming. It’s that I mind *starting*. LOL Pick up all the dogs toys (while the dogs try to get them back out), get out the vacuum, empty it from last time (cringe), find a spot to plug it in (’cause I always think there’s somewhere “better” – even though there never is)…after all that, the actual vacuuming part is easy. Well, until Gabriel decides to attack it…yeah, maybe I do mind. 😉

And thanks. I hope your week is productive too. 🙂

    Busy as always I see.:-)

I had a dog that used to attack the vacuum cleaner too. She actually put a hole in the bag. The cats, on the other hand, usually hide when the vacuum comes out. 🙂
