Weekly News & Goals 7/5/10

Happy Monday! I only say that because I’m off work today, which makes it better than average. I hope everyone had a fun and safe holiday yesterday.

If you were waiting ever-so-patiently for the next chapter of Indelibly Inked, I posted it yesterday. A longish chapter (relatively speaking), because once I finally got going on it, it just kept going and going…which is good. I hope you enjoy it.

And of course if you read my newsletter yesterday, you know that the lovely Heidi Sutherlin finished my cover for The Biker’s Wench this weekend – isn’t it great?

I’ve uploaded a revised version of Chapter 1 to include the cover, and will be using it from here on out.

This week we have some super-cool posts coming up! Rhoni from CKY Books will be guest posting on Wednesday to share the story of how she met her husband online. And Thursday I’m interviewing Kaily Hart , author of Picture This (just released from Ellora’s Cave) – and it’s a wonderful interview, you don’t want to miss it!

This Week on The Variety Pages

Tuesday: Construction Zone – Hard Copy to Digital Edits
Wednesday: Everyday Romance with Rhoni
Thursday: Author Interview with Kaily Hart
Friday: Chapter 27 of Indelibly Inked

I’m not sure what I’m going to do with the MySpace blog…I’m thinking that maybe I’ll post on Fridays only, and use it as a “what I’m reading and listening to” sort of post.More on that later.

Goal Reports

There’s not much point in separating out my writing/personal goals for last week, because honestly, I just didn’t get much done. I did, however, make a menu plan and mostly stuck with it, so that was good. And I did make progress on my writing projects, just not as much as I’d have liked. So this week is a new week…nothing to do but move on and try again. I am going to start taking two nights off writing per week – I already take Mondays off, but I’m taking Sundays too for the foreseeable future. Sundays are my nights to write and schedule all of my blog posts for the week, and also the time I finally get around to making a menu plan and posting to my weight-loss blog. I need both of those done to take some of the pressure off the rest of the week, and the last two weekends I’ve been feeling guilty and cutting off my blogging time to write on Sun. – which just pushes the blogging into the week and stresses me out. So I’ll try it this way for now, even though it seems counter intuitive. Sometimes less is more.

Goals for the Week

  • Finish the hard copy edits of Tempest. Really – I need to get them done so I can get to the digital editing soon. I want to release Tempest in August, so must get a move on here.

  • ½ hr per night on Her Private Chef (gotta get moving on this too).

  • Finish Chapter 2 of The Biker’s Wench to post on Sunday

  • Ch. 27 of Indelibly Inked

  • Make another menu plan and stick with it.

  • Vacuum (doing that today!)

  • Get 1 workout in this week (have been failing – I’ll start at 1)

  • Check/modify/sync up daily schedule every night before bed (I get lazy with this)

  • Send out several emails requesting guest posts and interviews/author guest posts for the blog.

If anyone is interested in either doing a guest post for Everyday Romance, or an author interview/guest post, email me and I’ll send you the particulars. You do not have to be part of a “couple” in order to get in on the Everyday Romance posts…I have topic options for those of you not currently involved as well, so don’t be shy (and don’t be surprised if I email you to ask)!

That’s what’s going on around here for the week. What’s up in your world? Working on anything? Any goals you’d like to make public?
