Weekly News & Goals 8/15/10

Welcome to an early edition of the news/goals post! Of course the big news this week is that Tempest will be released tomorrow, which is why I’m posting this today. I have some fun release-day things planned for tomorrow, so stop in then to celebrate with me. For now, we have other non-Tempest things to discuss….

For those of you who have been waiting ever-so patiently for chapter 3 of The Biker’s Wench, I’ll have it up sometime tonight on Scribd. And bi-weekly posts will resume from now on. Thanks for being understanding on the delays – I’ll do my best to not fall so far behind again.

A few bits of blog admin to take care of now. As you probably already know, I’ve decided to cut the Saturday Notable Posts topic. You can read about that here . I’ve also decided to cut back to three blog posts per week, so I can focus more on writing fiction, and less on whether I have posts written and scheduled on time during the week. Even a short blog post takes time and thought that I could be channeling into my fiction. So starting this week, I’m cutting my Tuesday Construction Zone posts as well. Tuesday and Thursday will be open for interviews, guest posts and the occasional off-topic post from now on. Monday, Wednesday & Friday will remain as they always have…news, romance and the weekly serial novels. I will still be posting Thursdays on the business blog as well.

This Week on The Variety Pages

Sunday: Special edition News & Goals

Monday: Release day for Tempest

Wednesday: Everyday Romance – Fear & Love

Friday: Chapter 33 of Indelibly Inked

Goal Report

Last week my main writing goals involved getting Tempest ready for release, finishing up the next chapter of TBW, and getting back to work on HPC. I didn’t quite make the latter, but Tempest is ready to go, and TBW will be finished by later tonight, so I’m feeling good about that.

As far as personal goals go – I wanted to vacuum, which I still need to do today, and get going on Halloween stuff, which I did. For any other Halloween fans, I’ve reopened the Scaryview blog , and will be posting there occasionally as our holiday preparations progress, so feel free to join us…

Goals for the Week

Writing

  • Release Tempest into the wild, and get my print copies ordered.

  • Dive back into Her Private Chef

  • Start Ch. 4 of The Biker’s Wench

  • Chapter 33 of Indelibly Inked

Personal

  • Mock up the Halloween invitations for this year

  • Make a room-by-room list of the décor/theme for each

  • Go through our prop database and start assigning props to rooms.

  • Menu plan and eat at home 4 nights out of 5

  • Make time for workouts every night, and start doing yoga in the mornings again

That’s the plan for this week – what’s on your agenda? Hopefully joining me to release Tempest is on your list…

With all the stuff you’ve got going on in so many different places, I was worried you might burn yourself out, trying to do it all. I think you’re making the wise choice, cutting back on the blogging to make more time for fiction writing.

Good luck with the restructuring of the blogging schedule. I can totally understand needing more time to devote to my fiction writing. I dropped my blogging to one day per week, but I’m working on some plans to bump that number back up. Happy writing.

    You are a DYNAMO!

Indeed, Carol. As the writing ramps up, other things have to give. This was a relatively easy decision, once I resigned myself to it. Only so many hours in the day… 😉

Tara, good luck with yours as well – once a week is still enough to keep an audience anyways…and in some cases, I think less posts are better, because people perk up when they see a new post (not just same ‘ol everyday stuff). 🙂

LOL Sidni – I don’t know about that, but I do my best. 😉
