Weekly News & Goals 8/2/10

Happy August! Wow, that got here fast…

So the big news is, I’m done with the Tempest revisions. And good riddance, I say. I have about a zillion other projects to work on, and I’ll be perfectly happy to get this one published and get back to work on those other things.

One of which is The Biker’s Wench…apologies that chapter 3 was delayed as well. I simply had to get Tempest done, so that had to wait. For anyone who isn’t following my fan page on Facebook , if you don’t want to wait around for the serial chapters, you can just sit tight until next May, when the edited/revised book will be published. I’ll also have another book out in late January, so plenty of reading material coming your way. With any luck I’ll have a book out every six months from here on out. That’s the plan, anyways.

Other big news this week is that I pre-ordered a Kindle 3 last Friday. My first “real” e-reader (I read on my PDA now), and I’m excited to have it not only for reading, but also for editing and formatting my books for Kindle. So I may be getting kind of antsy towards the end of the month when it’s release day gets closer…but I promise a review when it gets here.

Speaking of Kindle, if you didn’t hear last week – Samantha Hunter has a new romance up on Amazon called Dangerous Magic …it’s not just fabulous, it’s hot, so go check it out if you need some new reading material (or even if you don’t).

Goal Reports

I honestly don’t care what my other goals were last week – it was “finish Tempest revisions” that was the important one, and I did that. So woot! And here we go again…

Goals for the Week

Writing

  • Chapter 3 of The Biker’s Wench

  • Figure out print formatting for Tempest

  • Start playing with Kindle & Smashwords formatting

  • Get back to work on Her Private Chef

Personal

  • Menu plan & work out

  • Vacuum dog hair

  • Recruit more guest bloggers

  • Do that Facebook note thingy I’ve been tagged for six times

  • Get Epilogue newsletter for the business blog all sorted out

  • Plan out the month’s business blog posts

That’s it for me…what’s on your plate this week? Anything fun/exciting/tragic/mundane happening? Good books you’re reading? Do share…

Congratulations on finishing the revisions of “Tempest.” Well done!

You sound like you have an ambitiously busy week planned this week. I will just be working on word prompts and writing short fiction. That is if I can stay away from old literary movies and mini-series. I have been lost in Jane Austen and Jane Eyre for a week. I have loved it though.

Hope you are able to meet your weekly goals with no trouble. You are quite the trooper so I am sure that you will.

    Ciao Bella,

Thanks Ardee-ann…I hope you have lovely week working on short work. 🙂 Did you know Sam has writing prompts on her blog, and you can win stuff for playing? Go to Life’s a Beach – it’s a dialogue prompt this week.

    Happy writing!

LOL You have dog hair, I have cat hair. The way they’ve been shedding lately I call it shaving the carpet. 🙂

I’m sure you’ll have no problm reaching your goals this week, provided you’re not too distracted by Kindle!

I will be a guest blogger for you, if you’ll promote my teen romance advice column. I was at the PNWA conference and took meticulous notes, which I’d be happy to share as a guest blogger. BTW, if you’re wondering what brought me to your blog, I met Johanna Harness of #amwriting fame. She gave me your Tempest mini-card. I saw the offer of a free book, but I don’t have the foggiest idea how to work my camera and link it to the computer. Heck, I don’t even know how to get the dang thing off the tripod! My husband’s the photographer in this family. I’ll have to wait until he gets home from work to send you a pic of your Tempest card for the contest.

You can contact me through my web site: passinglovenotes(dot)wordpress(dot)com if you want me to be a guest blogger.

    Hi again Mechelle. 🙂

Glad you found your way here through my mini-card…very cool! You’re the first, I think. The contest is open until release day (Aug. 16th), so you have plenty of time.

I appreciate the guest blog offer…I’ll be in touch. 🙂
