You Don’t Say
A funny thing happened last Friday night.
I finished a story draft for the first time in a year. A full short-story draft that needs revision, and editing, but might yet be ready in time for Halloween.
This past Tuesday night, at writing group, I started another one.
It’s been a hot minute (or several) since I really felt like a “writer”. So even though my evening writing schedule isn’t quite working out yet, and most weeks all the writing I do is at my Tuesday night writing group, I’m starting to feel like a “real” writer again. Someone who thinks about story more often than not, daydreams about her characters and made-up worlds, and itches to get some words down, if only to see what happens next.
It feels good. Really good.
And that’s good motivation to keep at it.
