Writer’s Log: October 18, 2013

Writing Session 1: Jasmine Betrayal
Author/Genre: JD/romantic suspense
Words written: 188

Total words: 9,949
Time Spent:  15 minutes (break)

Notes: Decided to finish TNL after work…and work on the next scene for this instead. Except nothing coming out makes sense. It’s time to explain the “whys”, and I’ve got…nothing. Dang it. Hopefully now that it’s “top of the brain” today, my subconscious will work everything out by this afternoon… *eyeroll*

Writing Session 2: Jasmine Betrayal
Author/Genre: JD/romantic suspense
Words written: 157

Total words: 10,106
Time Spent:  10 minutes (break)

Notes: Just when the words start rolling, finally, my break gets cut short. Dang it. Such is life sometimes, but finally, finally I know where this is going. Sort of. It all comes back to the tea. Which is good, considering the series theme…

Writing Session 3: The Naughty List
Author/Genre: TM/erotic romance
Words written: 663

Total words: 4,140
Time Spent:  30 minutes (after work)

Notes: Alrighty then. Story installment done, and I need a cold shower. Or something…else. Whatever. Just…yeah. What’s next? *shakes head*

Writing Session 4: Dunning Manor
Author/Genre: JD/paranormal romantic suspense
Words written: 836

Total words: 5,663
Time Spent:  30 minutes (late night – Office Hours)

Notes: Not bad tonight. I still haven’t quite got the tension I’m looking for, but it’s a slow build, and I think it’s coming. I think there’s just so much set up and description I’m trying to pull in that the characters are kind of just along for the ride, which isn’t a good thing. Either that, or I’m just not used to writing late anymore, and I’m too tired to really get inside the character’s heads at this time of night. That should change though, the more I do it. Practice, practice, practice! It’s all practice…

Hooray for the weekend!

  1. I am so sorry I missed Office Hours last night it completely slipped my mind and I am not getting much of anything like I should on Facebook. I really enjoy the Office Hours I can’t describe just how much I get into them. I really need a giant popcorn and Coke when I sit down to “watch the show.” Again I apologize.
